Fig, Cranberry & Almond Porridge
Our vegan tramping breakfast porridge has all the warming tastes of autumn; where figs and cranberries fuse with cinnamon and cardamon, melting into a hearty, gentle wake up meal. The pumpkin and sunflower seeds in the porridge are toasted by hand until they are golden brown to bring a truly nutty flavour
We use local produce in our porridges to reduce food miles and our carbon footprint. We source Harraways New Zealand grown oats, and salt from Lake Grassmere that comes straight out of our moana.
So why eat porridge for breakfast? Oats are a great source of nutrient-rich whole grains and a primary source of energy. The fibre content helps improve digestion, and the soluble fibre feeds the good bacteria living in the gut for a healthier puku.
Why are chia seeds good for me? They contain large amounts of fibre and omega-3 fatty acids, plenty of high-quality protein, and several essential minerals and antioxidants. As such, they are great at helping you recover and stay healthy whilst adventuring. In fact “chia” is the ancient Mayan word for “strength”.
